Account ID & Logon ID Requests

(If you have any questions about the content of this page please contact request@nwrdc.fsu.edu for clarification)

Customers must establish a billing account with the NWRDC before attempting to transact any business through this facility. The NWRDC account, which identifies the customer's billing center and address, is required so that charges accrued through the customer's use of data center facilities may be correctly billed to that customer.

To run jobs at the NWRDC, customers must also have a Logon ID (LID). The LID, which is identified on each submitted job's JOB card, is used by the ACF2 security system to determine the customer's data access authority. The LID is also used as a "key" to the customer account ID number to which job execution costs are charged.

To obtain an Account ID or a Logon ID, the appropriate form must be completed, signed by the appropriate authorities at your institution, and submitted to NWRDC for processing.

 NWRDC Account ID Requests

The NWRDC Account ID Request Form must be signed by the customer's Account Officer and Institutional Director. Its special fields are:

  • Institution ID - A unique, customer-supplied, 3-character alphanumeric code identifying the customer's institution (e.g., BOR=Board of Regents).
  • Customer ID - A unique, customer-supplied, 5-character alphanumeric code identifying a specific billing unit within the customer's institution.
  • Account ID - An NWRDC-assigned, 4-character code identifying the customer's institution and billing unit. If the customer is applying for a new account ID, this field is usually left blank. However, if an existing Account ID is to be used in establishing a new Account ID for the same customer, this information may be supplied by that customer.

NWRDC Logon ID Requests

The NWRDC Logon ID Request Form must be signed by the customer's Account Officer and by the person authorized to administer the customer's new NWRDC logon ID. Its special fields are:

  • Account ID - The customer's 4-character NWRDC Account ID (as assigned by NWRDC per the customer's prior request for Account ID).
  • Group ID - (Optional) A customer-assigned 4-character alphanumeric code which may be used by the customer's Account Officer for internal accounting purposes.
  • Subgroup ID- (Optional) A customer-assigned 4-character alphanumeric code which may be used by the customer's Account Officer for internal accounting purposes.
  • Logon ID - A unique alphanumeric field of up to 6 characters, assigned by the NWRDC.
